  • Hansen Spear Funeral Home has 4 generations of experience & respected throughout our tri-states. What would make a difference in your choice? My family's experiences with Hansen Spear would have been with the most most recent 3 generations. I place a high value of Hansen Spear for having integrity & they are trustworthy. The first experience I personally saw this, would have been in the late 1960's. With the passing of one of our U S Veterans, The late Mr. George Spear, reached out to the boy's father & my Dad being with them that day, in ways, only a very qualified & sensitive F H director could do. The more recent would have been when my parents both were placed in the care of Hansen Spear, when they passed on. There was utmost sensitivity to my Mom & I with the passing on of my Dad. The same to me when my Mom passed on. Respect, understanding, professionalism, personal interest. Guiding me thru this grief stricken time with suggestions, the floral arrangements,, special touches with the video pictures prior to the service, honoring my thoughts & concerns. Sensitive to all our needs. The staff at the Funeral home extend this same level of respect toward the families & guests who attend visitations & services. Hansen Spear does not forget us once the time of need has passed. I particularly like the CHRISTMAS MEMORIAL SERVICE in early December. A special remembrance, honoring each person that they have served, is hung on a tree & a local Pastor gives a memorial service honoring the Celebration of Life of your loved ones. Hansen Spear staff will bless you thru the fragile time of grief & as you celebrate the life of your loved one, Terri Feld Cary

  • You can definitely tell that Casey loves what she does and is very compassionate. My grandmother had Casey as an agent and had life insurance, thank God that Casey talked about life insurance with my grandmother and explained the importance of it. I was the beneficiary so I had to contact Casey after her passing. Casey was amazing and so compassionate. She didn’t know my grandmother prior to her becoming a client and when I walked into Casey’s Office, she shed tears and gave me a hug. My grandmother was more than a client to her. After experiencing what I did with Casey, I switched everything over to her and I have no regrets.

Wish I could give this place 0 stars. They claimed to have a honeymoon giveaway at the Y101 gift show, where hundreds of brides and their families attend to plan their weddings in Quincy each year. A very nice couple whose families has lived in Quincy their whole lives was notified by telephone that they won the 2012 honeymoon giveaway. A few days later, they were presented with this email: I apologize but you are not qualified to win the honeymoon give away from Destination Travel that was available to win on 1/28/12 at the Y101 Bridal Show. You mentioned to me on the phone your sister and grandmother signed you up at the bridal show. Although your family signing you up for vendor prizes at the show might have qualified you for the smaller prizes, the bride MUST have attended the bridal show personally to be eligible to win the top prize which is the honeymoon from Destination Travel. I am required by the state law of Illinois that when I give anything away that is greater than $600.00, I have to hand deliver the information to the winner the day of the give away. I could not do this with you because you are in Texas and did not attend. (Here's the best part...) If you need help planning your honeymoon, please let us know! We can book your trip departing from Texas, no problem at all! Did they have it posted that it MUST be the bride who attended? No. If they need to present it to her in person, what is stopping them from flying down to Texas? The rules of IL post nothing about this, so from what I can conclude, Destination Travel is a place for swindlers.

Quincy "Discount" Travel. The name says it all. Kind of like going to a 5 and dime store when you're hoping for much better quality product. It is a "discount" travel agency that tells you one thing and then won't admit they are wrong. My husband and I used this "discount" travel business and booked a trip to Rivera Maya and paid them $2,500.00. We told the travel agent two different times we wanted BEACH FRONT property. Is that too hard for them to understand?? Then, after paying in full for this vacation, we googled the property map and saw it was not beach front. Called the "discount" agency and was told being it was all-inclusive that we could use all facilities which meant the beach areas. That seemed alright to us since we were told the beach was only a 5 minute walk. Well, after arriving to Mexico and checking in at the front desk, we were told that the all-inclusive properties beach that was 5 minutes from our hotel was OFF LIMITS and we could only use the other all-inclusive property beach area. The ONLY PROBLEM WITH THAT IS IT WAS 1 MILE AWAY. BEWARE of trusting this travel agency. They do not stand behind what they tell you.
